- Versus Illustration Playing Cards
A really 'Ace' project to take part in... - The Versus playing cards project is a collection of 52 illustrations by 13 artists, all presented within a box of playing cards and sent to creative organisations to get them employed.
I submitted a design for the Ace and was lucky enough to be asked to illustrate the remaining Ace cards.
My idea for the Aces was simply to work with the shapes of the 4 very recognisable suits and fill them with fantastical cities; in space, under water, on land and under the ground.
On September the 8th 2011 Versus 2 launched at The Parlour exhibition space in Bristol and everyone had a chance to see to see all the artists' work and buy playing card packs, posters and prints. They are available here.
